The process varies by customer type: Starter, Professional, and Enterprise. However, what is common across all three is that the first invoice is issued the moment we receive the signed contract.
Starter and Professional customers have 5-day credit terms from invoice issue.
Enterprise customers have 30-day credit terms from invoice issue.

Yes, customers can perform an upgrade of their plan at any time while the contract is active. However, it is not possible to switch to a lower plan or one with fewer features during the contract period.
